Homeless Memorial Day - = December 21st

Can you help ?

Michael Menchaca, from Northeast Valley Health Corporation, is gathering names of those pe= ople who have died on the streets this year so that they may be honored = on Homeless Memorial Day services at St. Mark's Episcopal Church,= in Sherman Oaks, on December 21st.

Do you know the name of someone? Those names will be read individually and placed on = the altar during the services - "to claim them as our own and comm= end their souls to the God of our understanding," states Mark.&nbs= p; All are welcome to attend the services.

Our December General Membership Mee= ting will include two presentations on recently completed research and policy recommendations on homelessness in South LA. Dr. Ris= hi Manchanda, St. John's Well Child and Family Center, and Dr. David Howard, Special Services for Groups, will each present their rese= arch strategies and findings on the homelessness within South LA. This will serve as an opportunity for us to begin a conversation on the different ways and opportunities to gather da= ta and information regarding homelessness throughout Los Angeles cou= nty and how we can support ways to gather the local data to inform our policy goals and agenda.
