Interim Staff for UHHP

Peggy Edwards and Pat Bowie are serving as iterim staff for UHHP for the next few months. As Executive Director, Peggy is responsible for coordinating programs, seeking funding = for permanent staff, and supporting networks in SPA's 1, 2, 4, & 5. Pat is supporting homeless healthcare networks in SPA's= 3, 6, 7, & 8.

Project 50 Update

Service Delivery Co-Chair, Libby Boyce (Dept. of Health Services) and Beth = Sandor (Common Ground) will present a status = report on Project 50 - Identifying the 50 most chronic and vulnerable home= less people sleeping on Skid Row and placing them into housing.

Homeless Prevention Initiative

Garrison Smith (Los Angeles County Homeless Coordinator) will share an updat= e on the Homeless Prevention Initiative.

LAHSA Update=

Mary Boding, Interim Director of Policy & Planning, will discuss LAH= SA's current activities and future goals.

UHHP Policy Development Progress and Next Steps

Co-Chairs Yolanda Vera (Los Angeles Health Action) and Dana Knoll (Watts Heal= th Care Corp.) will outline their committee's work in addressing the "moving targets" of health ca= re policy and "reform." They will also lead a discussi= on to gather input about advocacy training for UHHP that is planned for members in the next few months.=

SSI Disability Training

Service Delivery Co-Chair, Mark Casanova (Homeless Healthcare Los Angeles) = will provide a SSI Disability training update and discuss UHHP plans to offer training in May, June, or July.

What's Going On Around the County?=

Participants will hear about exciting developments in several areas of the count= y as new networks are developing and existing groups are expan= ding and implementing their plans. Pat Bowie will lead a discussion about the need for different models of community engagement to addr= ess urban and suburban needs, as well as the differing needs of the chr= onic homeless and the "temporarily and/or economically" homele= ss residents of our county.

There is exciting work going on in the Service Delivery, Policy Developme= nt, and Organization Development Committees. Spend a few minutes hearing about the plans of these groups and consider joining one of them.
