= Interim Staff for UHHP

Peggy Edwards and Pat Bowie are serving as interim staff for UHHP. As Executive Director, Peggy is responsible for coordinating programs, seeking funding for permanent staff, and supporting networks in SPA's 1, 2, 4, & 5. Pat is supporting homeless healthcare networks in SPA's 3, 6, 7, & 8.

JUNE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEE= TING AGENDA INCLUDES A VARIETY OF TOPICS

The next general membership meeting will be June 19th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at The Califo= rnia Endowment, 1000 N. A= lameda Street, Los Angeles. Agenda items include:

· = Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) - Hear about the latest activities and future plans.

· = &nb= sp; =

· = Home= less Prevention Initiative (HPI) - Leepi Shimkhada, Community Development Commission and Garrison Smith, Los Angeles County, Office of the CEO, Housing & Homeless Initiatives will discuss the HPI projects and goals.

· = &nb= sp; =

· = UHHP Policy Development & Advocacy - Receive an update on the policy issues affecting homeless healthcare. Policy Committee Co-Chairs Yolanda Vera and Dana Knoll will present a proposed "policy on policy" that will allow UHHP to be faster and more nimble in responding to proposed legislation on behalf of the membership.

· = UHHP= Web Site - Participate in a discussion about how the new web site can best serve members.

· = Docu= menting Disabilities & Technical Assistance Task Forces - UHHP's two task forces will present an overview of their activities and next steps.

UHHP Task Force Meetings

Both current UHHP task forces, Documenting Disabilities & Technical Assistance= will meet on June 19th from 1:30 to 3 p.m. a= t The California Endowment.

The Documenting Disabilities task force is assessing the training needs of clinicians, case manage= rs, and others involved in this process to ensure that such training is available and publicized. The members are preparing a workshop = for clinicians to be held on September 8, 2008. Look for details in upcoming newsletters.<= o:p>

The Technical Assistance= task force is exploring ways that UHHP can assist new and emerging collaborations in SPAs and other regional and community areas. <= /o:p>
